Derek Chen received his undergraduate degree from Hope College, a small Christian college in Michigan, before receiving a law degree from Cumberland School of Law and his MBA from the University of Alabama. Derek is a Vestavia Hills resident, and practiced law in Jefferson County.

 

Derek has been a longtime supporter of President Trump and his America First agenda. He was an early supporter of President Trump’s 2016 Presidential bid and has remained a staunch supporter ever since. 

 

Derek was born in the United States to legal immigrants from Taiwan. Derek's family immigrated to the United States to escape the threat posed by Communist China. Derek's background gives him a unique perspective on the importance of being a responsible citizen and standing up against government overreach.
